In brief

• We do not ask you to create an account or provide a name, email or phone number to use the site.
• We do not store your chat texts with the AI assistant or your location in our database.
• We do not use advertising or marketing tracking tools.

What we process and why

Search & browse

Your guided-search choices (service type, specialty, insurance, area) are sent to our server instantly to show results and are not linked to your identity. Age and chronic-condition details you may choose in the wizard stay in your browser to order specialties only and are not sent to us.

Location

We only ask for your location when you press “Near me” or “My location”. It is used to calculate distance and order results at that moment and is not stored. You can withdraw permission from your browser settings at any time.

AI Assistant

When you use the assistant, your message (and your location if you share it) is sent to the AI provider Google (Gemini) to write the reply, along with search results from our database. The provider’s terms and policy apply to this processing. Do not enter your name, ID number or identifying health details.

The chat is kept temporarily in your browsing session on the server so it continues between messages, and is deleted automatically when the session ends or when you press “New chat”. We only keep a statistical log (number of requests and tokens used) linked to an irreversibly hashed IP address, to protect the service from abuse and control cost.

Emergency alerts (such as chest pain) are detected inside our server without sending your message to any external party.

Booking appointments

When you request an appointment we store your name, mobile number, your note (if any) and the slot you chose, so that we can call you and confirm the appointment with the provider. We share this data only with the provider concerned with the appointment. We also store an irreversible hash of your device address to prevent abuse and duplicates. A request is not a confirmed appointment until we contact you. Do not write medical details in the note; you can ask for your data to be deleted as described in “Your rights and contact us”.

Visitor reviews

When you send a review we store the rating, the comment and the name you type (optional), the date, and an irreversible hash of your device address to prevent abuse and duplicates. Your review is shown to visitors only after it has been checked, and it can be rejected or deleted. Do not write personal data or identifying medical details.

Voice input and read-aloud

When you press the microphone, your browser uses its own speech recognition service (Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari) to turn your voice into text; the audio does not reach Itqan’s servers, only the text arrives, like any typed message. Reading replies aloud happens on your device using system voices.

Insureshop bot

The Insureshop page shows a bot built on the external Landbot platform. What you type in it is sent directly to Landbot and is subject to its policy; it does not pass through Itqan’s server. Do not share sensitive data you do not need to.

Cookies

We use a single technical session cookie (itqan_sess) to protect forms and temporarily keep the assistant chat. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

External services

• Maps: Google Maps (Maps JavaScript API). Map pages load the library and map imagery from Google servers, so Google sees your device IP address and the display requests, subject to Google’s privacy policy.
• Fonts: Tajawal and Inter fonts from Google Fonts.
• Directions and calling: “Directions” links open Google Maps in a new window; call and WhatsApp links open their own apps.

Medical disclaimer

• Itqan is a directory that helps you reach medical providers. It is not a medical website and does not provide diagnosis, treatment or prescriptions. The AI assistant only guides you to a suitable specialty and can make mistakes.
• Provider details (phone, hours, accepted insurance) may change. Always call the provider before visiting, especially to confirm insurance acceptance.
• In emergencies call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department immediately and do not rely on this website.
• A provider appearing on Itqan does not mean we recommend it or guarantee the quality of its services.
